Parent/Teen Stories

Without Judgment, the first book of the groundbreaking Parent/Teen Stories series, is a collection of short stories written by teens and parents that have experienced or are experiencing difficult teen years. Here there is no judgment placed on the stories: no suggestions, no finger pointing, no what-ifs. It is an outlet for both the reader and the writer. The reader will benefit from finding a story they can relate to their own life and the writer will benefit by sharing a painful experience in order to start or continue the healing process. When she was raising her own troubled teens, Susan Clawson, the coordinator of the Parent/Teen Stories series, struggled with the judgment she perceived that came from high school guidance counselors, therapists and the police. It left her feeling alone, frustrated and embarrassed. It wasn't until Susan attended a seminar as part of a program her oldest daughter was enrolled in, that she realized how many people were going through similar experiences. As stories were shared, Susan took comfort in the fact that she was not alone and she found a clearer perspective on her own situation. It is her hope that both the writers and readers of the stories in Without Judgment will find similar connections and be reassured that they are not alone in what they are experiencing. Author Bio: ABOUT THE AUTHOR-Susan presently resides in Massachusetts with her husband and fifteen year old daughter. Both her older children live out of state. Do not you kind of hate how we have entered the decadent period of Goodreads wherein probably fifty % (or more) of the evaluations written by non-teenagers and non-romancers are now actually naked and unabashed within their variously powerful efforts at being posture, wry, meta, parodic, confessional, and/or snarky? Don't you type of wood (secretly, in the marrow of one's gut's merry druthers) for the nice ol'days of Goodreads (known then as GodFearingGoodlyReading.com) when all reviews were evenly plainspoke Don't you kind of hate how we've joined the decadent period of Goodreads whereby perhaps fifty per cent (or more) of the evaluations written by non-teenagers and non-romancers are actually bare and unabashed within their variously effective attempts at being arch, wry, meta, parodic, confessional, and/or snarky? Do not you type of pine (secretly, in the marrow of your gut's happy druthers) for the nice ol'times of Goodreads (known then as GodFearingGoodlyReading.com) when all opinions were uniformly plainspoken, simply functional, unpretentious, and -- most importantly else -- boring, boring, dull? Do not you type of loathe when persons state'don't you believe this way or sense that way'in an endeavor to goad you equally psychologically and grammatically in to accepting with them? In the language of ABBA: I actually do, I really do, I do(, I do, I do). Effectively, since the interwebs is really a earth where yesteryear stands shoulder-to-shoulder with today's (and with fetish porn), we are able to revisit yesteryear in their inviolable presentness anytime we wish. Or at the least till this website ultimately tanks. Consider (won't you?) Matt Nieberle's review of Macbeth in its entirety. I've bound it with huge rope and dragged it here for your perusal. (Please understand that several a sic are recommended in these reviews.) their really complex and foolish! why cant we be examining like Romeo and Juliet?!?! at the least that guide is excellent! There you've it. Refreshingly, not really a review published in one of the witch's voices or alluding to Hillary and Statement Clinton or discussing the reviewer's first period. Merely a primal shout unleashed to the black wilderness of the cosmos.Yes, Mr. Nieberle is (probably) an adolescent, but I admire his power to strongarm the temptation to be clever or ironic. (Don't you?) He speaks the native language of the idk generation having an economy and a quality that renders his convictions all the more emphatic. Here's MICHAEL's report on the same play. You might'know'MICHAEL; he is the'Problems Architect'only at Goodreads. (A problematic title itself in so it implies he designs problems... which can be the case, for many I know.) This book shouldn't be required reading... reading plays that that you do not want to learn is awful. Reading a play kinda sucks to start with, if it was supposed to be read, then it will be a novel, not really a play. On top of that the teach had us students read the play aloud (on person for every character for a few pages). None of us had read the play before. None of us wanted to see it (I made the mistake of taking the'easy'english class for 6 years). The teacher picked students that appeared as if they weren't paying attention. This compounded to create me pretty much hate reading classics for something like 10 years (granted macbeth alone wasn't the problem). I also hate iambic pentameter. Pure activism there. STOP the mandatory reading of plays. It's wrong, morally and academically. Plus it can definitely fuck up your GPA. There's no wasteful extravagance in this editorial... no fanfare, no fireworks, no linked photos of half-naked, oiled-up, big-bosomed starlets, no invented dialogues between the author and the review-writer. It's simple and memorable. Being required to read plays is wrong, and in the event that you require anyone, under duress, to read a play then you have sinned and are likely to hell, in the event that you believe in hell. If not, you're likely to the DMV. I'm also fed up with whatever you smug spelling snobs. You damnable fascists with your new-fangled dictionaries and your fancy-schmancy spell check. Sometimes the passionate immediacy of a note overcomes its spelling limitations. Also, in this age when we are taught to respect each other's differences, it appears offensively egocentric and mean-spirited to anticipate others tokowtow on your petty linguistic rules. Artistic concept may no cost themselves regardless how you are trying to help shackle it. That is certainly a person's sign, Aubrey. Inside our impression, a enjoy Macbeth has been a worste peice actually created by Shakespeare, and this says quite a bit thinking about furthermore, i read through his / her Romeo and also Juliet. Ontop regarding it's witout a doubt fabulous piece, naive heroes plus absolutly discusting list of morals, Shakespeare overtly shows Female Macbeth because the legitimate vilian in the play. Thinking of jane is mearly this express inside a corner game in addition to Macbeth themselves can be truely committing a horrible offenses, like tough and also scams, I don't realize why it's very easy to visualize of which Macbeth would probably be willing to accomplish excellent in lieu of malignant but only if the girl ended up much more possitive. I do believe that your participate in is uterally unrealistic. Although the subsequent is by far this ne plus especially regarding typical e book reviewing. When succinct along with without any stealing attention interest to be able to coyness or cuteness, Jo's evaluation alludes into a bitterness therefore outstanding that it's inexpressible. 1 imagines a handful of Signet Classic Features hacked to be able to parts together with pruning shears within Jo's vicinity. I hate that play. Because of this of which Could not even provide you with every analogies and also similes concerning just how much We detest it. A great incrementally snarkier type will often have claimed some thing like...'I don't really like the following engage in being a simile Could not surface with.' Never Jo. The girl echoes any natural, undecorated reality unsuitable regarding figurative language. Along with there's certainly nothing wrong by using that. One time within an incredible whilst, when you're getting neck-deep with dandified pomo hijinks, it is really a great wallow while in the hog coop you might be itchin'for. Thank you so much, Jo. I enjoy mom and her useless clasping from similes in which cannot solution your bilious hate in your heart. That you are mine, in addition to We are yours. Figuratively discussing, regarding course. And today the following is my own review: Macbeth by way of William Shakespeare is the best literary work within the Uk language, in addition to anybody who disagrees can be an asshole and also a dumbhead.
